That is why it is important for you To read the instructions included with this software. INITIALIZING THE PROGRAM If installing from a floppy disk with the auto-install files: Insert disk in drive A: (or B:) Type A: Enter Type GOBILLY Enter To run storybook (if installed at subdirectory SDREAM): Type CD \NAMEOFSTORYBOOK Enter Type NAMEOFSTORYBOOK Enter TO HEAR THE .CMF MUSIC To run .CMF music, a Sound Blaster sound card - driver SBFMDRV.COM must be in resident before running the storybook. Check your Sound Blaster directory [example used - SB], to see if there is SBFMDRV.COM listed. To check the directory do the following - If your Sound Blaster [SB] is in the C: drive Type C: Enter Type CD\SB Enter Type DIR Enter Now look for SBFMDRV.COM If you see this listed, go back to the storybook directory. We have made a BB.BAT file which will install the sound driver for and also run the storybook: Type C: Enter Type CD\NAMEOFSTORYBOOK Enter Type BB Enter Now when you open the storybook, you should hear .CMF music. If you don't hear the .CMF music, the drive and/or directory information may need to be changed. You need a text editor utility to edit the file (later versions of DOS has the EDIT utility, or if you have Windows, use its Notepad utility). For example, if you have EDIT: Type C: Enter Type CD\NAMEOFSTORYBOOK Enter Type EDIT BB.BAT Enter The DOS editor will now come on your screen. The BB.BAT is set to find the SB\SBFMDRV on the C: drive, if your Sound Blaster [SB] is on another drive, change the C: to that drive. Example: BB.BAT as distributed reads: C:\SB\SBFMDRV NAMEOFSTORYBOOK C:\SB\SBFMDRV /U My second drive is D:, so I would change it to: D:\SB\SBFMDRV NAMEOFSTORYBOOK D:\SB\SBFMDRV /U Click on SAVE to save your changes. NAMEOFSTORYBOOK... change this to the name of the .exe File Read your Sound Blaster book for more information if you still can not hear the .CMF music in the storybook. HUMAN VOICE is recorded in 8-bit.
