HOW TO DOWNLOAD FILES...When you are on the page that you want to download... Click on the Title to Download the storybook. When the little screen pops up, click to SAVE AS. Remember what directory you save the storybook to. When you want to view the storybook, upzip the .zip file, then run the .exe file.
The storybooks are DOS, but can be run under Windows 3.0+ and Windows 95. (some of the EGA versions have hung up when run under windows.)
HOW TO VIEW A PAGE FROM THE STORYBOOK...Click on the Storybook Icon. Sorry... these pages are not animated, you'll have to download the storybooks to see animation.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO REGISTER...Registration is now... FREE... this means that you can use these storybooks on your personal computer without having to pay us anything.
WHAT ABOUT SCHOOLS...Yes, you may put these storybooks on your school room computers. Test them on one of the computers to make sure that they work correctly before installing them on all your computers.
EGA or VGA...EGA... You can play the EGA storybooks with an EGA or VGA monitor. A Sound Blaster soundcard is optional, you can hear the most of the sounds on your PC Speaker. Text-To-Speech used to tell the story.
VGA... You must have a VGA monitor to view the VGA storybooks. You must have a Sound Blaster soundcard to hear the the sound effects and music. To hear the .CMF music, you must have the SBFMDRV.COM that comes with Sound Blaster. Most of the VGA storybooks are told using Human Voice.
...when you see Gubber, the monkey icon, you will know which storybooks use Human Voice to tell the story. All other storybooks use Text-to-Speech.

Running the Storybooks...Once unzipped run the .exe file to view the Storybooks. The Storybooks are DOS based, but can be run under Windows 3.1 & Windows 95. For Windows 95, first run the storybooks in DOS, then create a shortcut to view the storybook. Please Note... Some of the EGA storybooks hang up if run under Windows.

Known Problems...Some sound card that claim to be Sound Blaster compatable sometimes do not work for these storybooks. Ones that we know have problems are the sound cards that come on the Toshiba and IBM computers.Please Note... Some of the EGA storybooks hang up if run under Windows. |
