Create a LAYER... then use your line tool to outline a gray color... for the book's pages.

Use your DARKEN tool to darken the edge closet to you.

Use your line tool to add a few lines. Then use your soften tool to soften the lines so they don't STAND out.

While I have this area as a layer... I like to copy it... then paste it to use on another book.
