These are the toes of the Penguin Penguins are marine birds that do not fly, instead they use their wings (flippers) to swim as they propel through the water. Penguins live in the Southern Hemisphere. Some in very cold Antarctica area (such as the Emperor penguin), while others live on the warmer tropical islands. What keeps them warm? They have a thick layer of blubber under their wooly down and feather covered skin. The feathers are waterproof causing the water to roll off their bodies. To cool off, a penguin will ruffle their feathers and spread their wings.
If I took all my favorite parts from the different penguins... this is what I would want a penguin to look like. Try drawing your own favorite penguin.
Why don't polar bears eat penguins? The polar bears live in the Northern Hemisphere - some in the very cold Arctic area. Penguins live in the Southern Hemisphere - some in the very cold Antarctic.
