Drawing on the Grid - Part 2

Let's Draw Blues Clues... or your favorite photo or colorbook page!!!!

Materials you will need:
Poster Board (or board to tape picture and grid to)
    Tape
Picture (can be a photo or colorbook page)
    The Grid (on transparent paper)
    The Grid (to draw on)
    or
The Grid (to set behind a drawing sheet)

ThePix.gif - 12361 Bytes You will need a picture... here we took a photo of our favorite toy... Blues Clues! Sometimes we like to use a colorbook page from our favorite colorbook.

If you don't have a photo you can use right now... we've made up Blues Clues with the grid that's all ready for you to use. You'll find more photo pictures with the grid below on this page.

TheGrid.gif - 4733 Bytes Print out the Grid on a TRANSPARENT sheet. Then print out another Grid sheet on a piece of regular paper.

*If you are using our "ready to use" grid pictures, Blues Clues or picture you'll find listed below... you don't need to print a transparent grid.

layGridPhoto.gif - 13924 Bytes Lay the photo (or colorbook page) down on the poster board. Tape a couple of the ends so the picture doesn't move around. Tape the transparent grid over the photo (or colorbook page).

TheGrid-drawing.gif - 5570 Bytes Draw your picture... use the ABC... and 123 on the top and sides as your guide. Draw what you see in each square. This method... Drawing with a Grid... helps you to draw what you SEE.

OR
overLay.gif - 4933 Bytes Put a piece of paper over the Grid... set the paper so you can see the grid lines through your drawing paper. (You may need to make the lines on the grid darker... use a ruler and a thin tipped black magic marker or black pen.) When you can see the lines through the paper... tape this down so it will not move while you are drawing.

If you need your drawing larger... create your own grid... use a ruler, and make the grid squares larger. Make sure that each square is the same size.

WOW... you have drawn a picture of your favorite friend! ... oh my... with this method of learning how to draw... you can take a photo of your friends... and family... or favorite pet... and draw their pictures!
