Finger Puppet - Chinese Wiggly Dragon
Cut out the pattern pieces. Pick out all your favorite colors! I like to use felt for my puppets. Sew the finger base. Turn inside out. Cut a piece of boa feathers the length you'd like. I cut mine 12 inches long. |
Glue (I use hot glue) the boa feathers to the finger puppet base. If you use hot glue... make sure you ask your parents to help, it can become VERY HOT to work with. |
Set up the feathers so you have a place for the face. |
Use the glue to add more feathers. Here I used bright red... Chinese use red as a happy color. |
Take your ribbon... tie them in a knot in the center. This will help keep them ribbon in one area. |
Glue the ribbon... by the knot... to the puppet. |
Glue the face section (#1) on the puppet base... over the ribbon's knot. |
Glue the ear wings to the face. |
Glue the eye base to the face. Glue on the tongue. |
Glue the eye mask to the face. |
Glue a pom pom for the nose. |
Finish up the dragon's face. Glue on the eyes. Add more pom poms where you want (optional). Use a permanent marker to draw on lines. If the finger puppet is too large for smaller fingers... stitch some elastic through... about the middle area. |
Let the boa feathers flow over your hand as you move
this dragon around... wiggle and giggle!
